such as the gas tank capacity 🚗
let's say it is a 20 gallon tank
You also need a 2nd odometer reading with say 50% full tank, such as 15,221 miles
then 15221- 15121 = 100 miles
.75 of 20 = 15 gallons
.50 of 20 = 10 gallons
15-10 = 5 gallons
100 miles on 5 gallons = 20 miles on 1 gallon
X = 100/5 = 20 mpg
[15221-15121]/[(.75)20 -.5(20)]= ratio of miles to gallons = 20 mpg
