An airplane begins to descend for a landing.the elevation g (in feet) of the modeled by the function g(t)=4800-300t, where t is the time (in minutes) since the airplane began.

    a. Use the graph of the function to identify it's domain and range

     b. Interpret the slope and the intercepts of the graph.

This is a linear function.  Due to context, domain is all real numbers greater than or equal to zero.  This is because time cannot be negative.  The range is all real numbers greater than or equal to zero.

 

The y-intercept indicates the initial elevation, when t=0.  The x-intercept indicates ground level  g(t)=0.

 

The slope indicates the descend per minute.   This is because for each minute, the plane descends to a certain elevation.
