Three tickets in Switzerland plus two tickets in Japan would cost $74.05. How much does an average movie ticket cost in each of these countries?

Multiplies the top equation by -2 and the bottom by 3:

6J + 9S =  222.15

 

5S = 65.15

2J + 3(13.03) = 74.05

 

2J = 74.05 - 3(13.03)

 

2J = 74.05 - 39.09

 

2J = 33.16
