4(x-1)=28
First you need to multiply everything that is in parenthesis.
4*x =4x ; 4 *-1 = -4
New equation 4x-4=28
Next add 4 to both sides of the equation.
4x-4+4= 28 + 4
New equation : 4x=32
Finally divide both sides by 4 to find out what (x) is.
4x/4 = 32/4
Your Answer : x = 8.
