Find a so that the equation below is valid

{(x2)4} ÷ {x2a} = square root of x

Just guessing, but are you really trying to solve an equation in which its right side is CUBE ROOT of x?
 
If so, that means x8-2a = x(1/3) and all you have to do is equate those exponent expressions & solve for a.
