Determine net change and average rate of change between the given values of the variable.

A function is given.
f(t) = 5t2; t = 3, t = 3 + h
(a) Determine the net change between the given values of the variable.

(b) Determine the average rate of change between the given values of the variable.

See my solution above. You should practice the definition of the first derivative.

I did

f(3+h)-f(3) / (3+h)-2

5(3+h)2-5(3)/ h

45+45h+5h-45 / h

and got 45h+5h/h for the net change

for avg rate of change i got 45+5h

but both are wrong.

f(3+h)-f(3)/(3+5)-3
5(3+h)^2 - 5(3)^2/3+h-3
5(3+h)(3+h)-5(9)/h
5(9+3h+3h+h^2) - 45 / h
45+30h+5h^2 - 45 / h
30h+5h^2 / h
h(30+5h) / h
30+5h
