Hi so I think if this is you question: 3x/(4-2x)/3 = (1/2), then solving for x:
1.)Multiply both sides by 3, giving you
- 3x/(4-2x)= 2/3
- Break down: multiplying the left side of the equation removes the 3. (1/2)*3 = 2/3
2.) Now you have 3x/(4-2x)= 2/3 so you can cross multiply to keep things simple, giving you
- 6x= 12-6x
- Break down: 2 * 3x = 6x also, (3 * 4) + (3*-2x) = 12-6x
3.) Now you have 6x= 12-6x so you combine like terms giving you
- 12x = 12x
- Breakdown: take 6x from right and move to left by subtracting it
4.) Finally you have 12x = 12x, so you divide both sides by 12
- x = 1
- Breakdown: 12/12 equals 1
Hope this helps!
