Lets say that we have a line with an equation: y=mx + b; m is the slope which can be obtained by using two points in the line (x,Y) and (x1,y1), the slope is equal to (y1-y)/(x1-x).
The line parallel to this line will have the same slope as the line and the line perpendicular to this line will have a slope of (-1/m), in case that the slope of the original line is m.
