y = x + 10
Add the two equations
2y = 38
divide both sides by 2
y = 19
Now just plug 19 in for y in one
of the original equations.
19 = x + 10
Sbtract 10 from both sides
9 = x
The lines cross at x=9, y=19
which is the point (9, 19)
You check by plugging the answer into the
original equations that verify it works for
both.
