Is triangle a right triangle:
Why don't you wright in algebraic form, so you and the rest should see what you are doing.
so you had
a^2 + b^2 = c^2 / assumed that it is a right triangle.
Then you wrought
a + b = c / which is wrong
Pythagoras theorem: In a right triangle, areas of squares with sides of a triangle add up, not the lengths
of the triangle.
