Hi Ankit,
x+√5=4+√5
substract √5 from both sides, we get,
x=4
now x+√5 = 4+√y
4+√5 = 4+√y
√5 = √y
squaring on both sides, we get,
5=y
Ans: x+y= 4+5=9
