if x + root(5) = 4+ root(5). Find x+y

if x + √5 = 4 + √y. find x+ y

Root x +y =7...eq 1 
 x+Root y =11...eq 2
we can take value of x & y as perfect squares,
if x = 9,   y=4
LHS of eq 1=Root x+y=Root 9 +4=3+4=7=RHS
LHS of eq 2=x+Root y =9+Root 4 =9+2 =11 =RHS.
x, y value satisfy both eqs, so 
Ans: x=9, y=4

x+√5=4+√5
substract √5 from both sides, we get,   
x=4
 
now x+√5 = 4+√y
       4+√5 = 4+√y
        √5 = √y
         squaring on both sides, we get,
         5=y
Ans:  x+y= 4+5=9
