The students in the band are selling entertainment books.They earn $11.25 on each book they sell.Their goal is to earn more than $7000.What is the fewest number they can sell and still reach their goal?

Let variable x= the number of books they sell. Your goal is 7000 dollars and you sell each book at 11.25 dollars. 

This lets you make the equation 11.25x=7000, you charge 11.25 per book and your goal is equal to 7000 dollars. 

Solve for x, you get x=7000/11.25 

x=622.222 or 623 books need to be sold. (I round up because you can not have 0.22 of a book) 

623 books is the minimum number of books you need to sell in order to reach your goal.
