6    half of 16 is 8, so half of 12 is 6

 

60     4+5=9, 5+9=14, 9+14=23, 14+23=37, 23+37 = 60

 

38      9-3=6   ,   21-9 = 12  (the difference doubles)

            21-17 = 4, 25 - 17 = 8   (the difference doubles)

             25-12 = 13, so the next difference must be 26.
