EAch day the sum of the average times spend on grooming for women and men is 86 minutes. The difference between grooming times for is 12 minutes. How mamy minutes per day do women and men spend on grooming

Answer 1

(m + m + 12)/2 = 86

2m + 12 = 172

2m = 160

m = 80

 

w = 80 + 12 = 92

 

If you want to do this a shorter way, with two sets of data that are 12 apart, they'd have to be 6 on either side of 86, so 80 and 92.
