A luxury car rental company charges $150 per day in addition to a flat fee of $50 for insurance.

Write the function that represents the cost, f(x), (in dollars) to rent the car for x days. Then answer the following:

If the company offers a weekly rate of $900 plus the insurance of $50, is this a better deal than paying by the day for 7 days? Explain why or why not. Give the difference in price if there is one. Show all work using the equation editor.

Cost to rent car for x days = c = 150*x+50

 

Cost to rent under regular rate for 7 days = 150*7 + 50 = 1050

cost to rent weekly = 900 + 50 = 950

 

since weekly cost is 100 less per week, it is a better deal
