Hi Terry,
to find the inverse of f(x), we assume y=f(x). So, y=-3x + 5.
now interchanging the variables. We can write,
x=-3y+5
=> 3y= 5-x
=> y=5/3 - x/3
therefore, inverse of f(x)= 5/3 -x/3
now we r going to find the LHS and you would do the RHS, okay?
LHS=f(inverse of f(x))
=f(5/3 -x/3)
=- 3(5/3 -x/3) + 5
=x
do the RHS by yourself.
