The negative sign is not enclosed in parenthesis so you can separate as multiplying by (-1)
-27-4/3 = (-1)*(27-4/3)
A negative exponent gives the reciprocal of the positive. (example: x-2 = 1/x2 )
(-1)*(27-4/3) = -1/274/3
The exponent, 4/3 can be split into (1/3)*4 ; where an exponent of 1/3 = cube root
-1/274/3 = -1/(271/3)4
-1/(271/3)4 = -1/(3√27)4
-1/(3√27)4 = -1/(3)4
-1/(3)4 = -1/81
