Order of operations: PEMDAS (parenthesis exponents multiply divide add subtract).
So first we look inside the parenthesis at the 4+8^2 term. Since 8^2 has an exponent, we solve for that first.
(4+64)*2
Now we solve for everything inside the parenthesis. Note that even though it's an addition problem (which comes before multiplying in PEMDAS) that because it's inside the parenthesis it still takes precedent.
(68)*2
Now we can multiply to finish.
