ye=0.016xsquared+0.124x+0.787
Here x=0 represents 1990, x=1 represents 1991, and so on. Use the model to approximate sales in 1999.
Sales in 19991999 were approximately

X = 0.016 X² + 0.124 X +0.787 ( in million)

 

For the year 1999 X = 9 ( as it was 0 for 1990, 1 for 1991 , 2 for 1992 and so on....)

 

X = .016* (9)² + 0.124 * 9 + 0.787

   = 3.199 million
