1/7x+8=-6/7x-7
multiply both sides by 7x
1+56x=-6-49x
56x+49x=-6-1
105x=-7
divide both sides by 105
x=-7/105
x=-1/15

Once again, we see the need for parentheses to make the order of computations clear (to both students and tutors).
PEMDAS says: one divided by 7, and then that result is MULTIPLIED by x. In other words, the fraction 1/7 is the coefficient of x.
This type of mistake is the most frequent one in the math presented on this non-blackboard platform.
