Sorry, I have to take back my answer.  I did not realize this was for a finance class rather than an accounting class.  There's really nothing in the question to distinguish the two.  (While there is a bit of crossover, there's still differences in vocabulary, methods, etc.)

I have to assume you still need to know the accounting equation, though they might call it something different.  I see from your other post that they're referring to the net asset value as the value per share.  That just means dividing by the number of shares to get it down to a value for one share.
