Find the equation whose graph is the red line shown below. Write your answer in standard form. (Standard form is Ax+By = C, where A is positive, and A, B, and C are integers with greatest common divisor 1.)

In order to do this you need to find points on the line. The easiest two points to find are the intercepts, since you can clearly see them. 

 

The y-intercept is: (0,1)

The x-intercept is: (2,0)

 

Then you need to find the slope: 0-2/1-0=-2/1=1 so m=1

 

Next, choose a point and plug it into the point slope formula

 

y-y₁=m(x-x₁)

y-1=1(x-0)

y-1=1x-1

y=1x+0

 

so the equation of the line is y=1x
