Inverse of x^3-4/x

Inverse of x^3-4/x

Kenneth S.

Question: is this f(x) = (x3-4)/x and you want the inverse of function f?

Note the parentheses that I introduce are necessary, on this platform.

As another point of clarification, are you trying to solve for or just graph the inverse.  Trying to solve for the inverse algebraicly requires solving a general 4th order (or 3rd order with Kenneth's assumption) polynomial.  It's not impossible, but beyond the scope of most high school algebra courses.  If you're just trying to graph it, that's a much easier problem.

Now if I read this question differently
as X3 - 4/x
and to find inverse
it may be written as
(X4-4)/ X
and inverse will be X /( X4 -4) This is another possible answer to a different question
