A jogger runs a park which is 10 miles away. She then jogs home at the same speed but used a route that was 15 miles away. Her time for the return trip was one hour longer. Find her jogging speed

10 = rt

 

15 = r(t+1)

15 = rt + r    

 

15 = 10 + r     substitution

 

5 = r   Jogging Speed

 

5 miles per hour (2 hours) = 10 miles

 

5 miles per hour (2+1 = 3 hours) = 15 miles
