What is the x-intercept for y = x -4?

I have a hard time with these linear equations and this question makes no sense

Number 1 - You have to understand what does it mean by x-intercept.  X-intercept is where the line cross the x-axis.  

Number 2 - You have to know what it means by the line cross the x-axis.  A graph cross the x-axis is when y = 0

 

y = x - 4; y = 0

0 = x - 4

x = 4

 

The linear equations has an x-intercept at (4,0)

The x-intercept occurs when y = 0.

y = x - 4

0 = x - 4

4 = x

The x-intercept is (4, 0)
