The strict answer to your question is "no, there are no ranks among numbers, and all numbers are equal."  It's in the Declaration of Independence, I'm sure.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, so I'm going to suggest you work the problem to come up with a set for x.

First, distribute the two 2's:

2 - x > -2 - 2x

Now put the x's on one side and the non-x's on the other.  I'll add 2x and subtract 2:

x > -4

And there's your answer.
