A machine made 2 and 3/4 pencils in 3 and 1/6 minutes. How many pencils would the machine have made after 3 minutes?

Let's calculate pencils per minute: (2 & ¾) ÷ (19/6) = (11/4)(6/19) = 33/38 pencils per minute.

 

In 3 minutes, 99/38 pencils which is 2 & 23/38 pencils.
