What is the rate of the trains?

Train A and train B leave a central station at the same time. They travel the same speed, but in opposite directions, with train A heading towards station A, and train B heading towards station B. Train A reaches station A after 3 h. Train B reaches station B after 2 1/4 h. Station A and B are 420 mi apart.

Before posting a problem read the problem statement to make sure it makes sense or it doesn't have any wrong data: You say train B reaches station B after 214214 h which is about 24 years.

1. First, how far are the trains going? Their stations are 420 miles apart, but they're both leaving from a CENTRAL station. If the central station is where the name suggests, it's halfway between Station A and Station B. To reach their respective stations from a central point, the trains would both travel ______________ miles. Once you know how many miles their going, you can calculate the miles per hour each train travels.
