Geometry Word Problem

Ben wants to travel to his friend's house. He notices that on the map the scale says that inch is equal to 3 miles. On the map, he measures the distance to be 3.5 inches. How far away is his friend's house?

You state "It says its wrong".  What does the first IT mean?  (The second appearance of it in your sentence should be it's)
 
I believe that my explanation is correct. Presumably you have a human teacher with whom you can discuss this--or an interested parent.  If an answer is wrong, there has to be a reason.
 
Beware of being told by a nebulous computer or authoritarian person that something is right or wrong, without there being sufficient PROOF.  (This principle can be profitably applied in today's political atmosphere, too.)
