 Please help me with my Math Homework. I'm actually not bright when it comes to problem solving involving fractions. I was hoping if at least one of you solve the problem given. That would help me a lot. Thank you very much in avdance

M=Mel's age

 

S+M=72

S+3=(1/2)(M+3)

S+M=72 ----->S=72-M

substitute

72-M+3=(1/2)(M+3)

75-M=(1/2)(M+3)

2(75-M)=M+3

150-2M=M+3

150-3=2M+M

147=3M

M=147/3

M=49

S+49=72

S=72-49

S=23

23+3=26 answer
