The equation that you have there is already balanced! So you don't need to do anything beyond that for the balancing. Where that will come in handy then in a stoichiometry context then is that it tells you what the mole ratio should be between substances.
For example, in your equation
Li3N + 3 H2O --> NH3 + 3 LiOH
meaning that the mole ratio between H2O and NH3 would be
3 moles of H2O for 1 mole of NH3, based on the coefficients
