Write the equation of the line in point slope form that is parallel to 3x-2y=5 and passes through (-6,4).

 

Please explain like you are teaching it to someone i have no idea what to do. Thanks in advance.

You seem to have placed all of today's homework on our site.  Consult the answers given in numbers 19 & 20 and try to learn from them.

 

This is all about several basic principles that you need to remember:

y = mx + b

m = change in y divided by change in x

y - x₁ = m (x - x₁) <....."point-slope form"

 

Parallel lines have identical slopes, perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciprocals of one another, or are one horizontal, one vertical line.
