I assume you meant 

 

f(t) = 5 * 2^t

 

Then

 

f(3) = 5 * 2³ = 5 * 8 = 40 rabbits after 3 months

f(x)=5(2)t

 

t=3 months

 

f(x)=5(2)(3)

 

      =30 months
