AREA/PREMIER/VOLUME

In a storm a hydro pole snapped and fell against a house wall. If the top of the pole was resting 4.8 m above the ground and the bottom of the pole was 12.4 m from the house, how long was the hydro pole (to one decimal place)?

Did the pole snap at the base or further up? Unless you answer this question exactly, I cannot be clear what you are asking.
