the equation is: 2y-1=6x-3
in order to get the equation into y-intercept form, we have to get y by itself. therefore, our goal will be to solve the equation for y.
1) let's add 1 to each side of the equation. this gives the equation
1+2y-1=6x-3+1
if we simplify:
2y=6x-2
2) let's divide each side by 2
(2y)/2 = (6x-2)/2
if we simplify:
y=(6x-2)/2
if we simplify: y = 3x-1
we now have y by itself in y-intercept form y = mx+b where m =3 and b =-1
