how do I simplify : (3x4+4x3-5x2+18) + (3x4-12x3-3x3+7x-9) ?

Just do the indicated arithmetic, multiplication first and then addition. You'd start with 3 x 4, then 4 x 3, then 5 x 2. Add up the answers from those, and then add 18, and you're done with the first set of parentheses. Do the same in the second set. Keep an eye out for minus signs. I see the last term is "7 x -9", which is -63.  If I have read your question correctly, the answer should be just a number.

Means we are soving problem In this order.first brekets.for this problem there are two breakers. First we simplify first breaker.After B,E is there, E means exponent,But there is no exponent ,After that division or multiplication which one paper first. after that addition or subtraction which one appear first .So using this rule we can solve the problem in following manner.

(12+12-10+18)+(12-36-9-63)

=(24-10+18)+(-24-9-63

=(14+18)+(-33-63)

=32-96

=-64

Follow  "BODMAS"

it says, solve any problem following hierarchy of  Brackets, Off, Division, Multiplications, Addition and then subtraction.

Regarding your question,

12+12-10+18+12-36-9-63= 54--118=-64

 

Add all positive  and negative nos. separately and then solve it.
