Standard form would be...

Ax+By=C  Neither A nor B equal zero.  A is greater than zero.

What you are presenting is not an equation.  It does not have an = sign.  It is an expression.  I will work with what we have...

4x -3(x-2y) + (1/2)(6x -8y)

Let's distribute...

4x-3x+6y+3x-4y

Let's combine like figures...

(4x-3x+3x)+(6y-4y)
