We were almost neighbors.  I used to live in Bedford, New York.  I was educated in the Bedford Central School system and attended Fox Lane.
4x -3(x-2y) + (1/2)(6x -8y)
Standard form would be...
Ax+By=C  Neither A nor B equal zero.  A is greater than zero.
What you are presenting is not an equation.  It does not have an = sign.  It is an expression.  I will work with what we have...
