If log₃ x=2, then what's x equal to?

Given a logarithmic equation, to rid yourself of the logs, EXPONENTIATE (to the designated base):

 

3log₃(x) = 3²

 

Now, since log taking & exponentiating (with same bases) are inverse operations, it turns into simply

x = 9.
