Keep in mind that y cannot equal 4 or 0 because they are factors in the denominator that will make it equal to 0 and that is a bad thing.

Hi Lauren, the numerator can be factored into: (2y - 1) * (y - 4). The denominator can be factored into: 2y * (y - 4).

 

The (y - 4) in the numerator will cancel with the (y - 4) in the denominator.

 

This leaves: (2y - 1) / 2y.
