y=2x-5
 
It indicates to solve for x. So we want to get x by itself, not y. 
 
So you want to move everything but the x to the other side.
 
Add 5 to both sides.
 
y+5=2x
 
Then divide both sides by two.
 
y/2 + 5/2=x
 
Simple as that :)
