Proportion, and function

Question

1) find the height of an object around your house using proportion? 

 

2) sketch a graph of each function:

a) f (x)= 3x+2

b) f (x)= x^2 -4

C) f (x)= |x-5|

F) (x)= 2^X-1

     

        ( GIVEN DOMAIN= {-3, 0, 3, 5}.

They want to you pick a scale to measure with.  For example:

 

1 foot = length of standard ruler

 

 

2)

 

For each graph, evaluate the function using the domain.  Then use those points to graph.  I will construct a chart for you to better understand.

Just fill in the chart to get your points.  Then plot them on a graph.  Use different shapes to distinguish the points from their functions.
