                Six times = 6x

 

                Less 7  = -7

 

                Is 41  = 41

 

                Now write from the top...

 

                6x -7  =41

                     +7   +7

               __________

                6x      =48

               __         ___

                6            6

 

                X    =8  ----->a number

 

           

                  Does 6 times 8  -7    =41  ?

 

                              48      -7    =41

                                  41     =41   ---->  Checks !
