What is -3(y-23)? (as a simplified expression)

I've been really needing help solving this. I would need this expression simplified in standard (universal) form. Thank you.

The only thing that can be done is to distribute the -3, giving -3y + 23 (or 23 - 3y); this last is a bit neater because it doesn't need to start off with a sign, and is one character less to write (and read).

 

This idea of standard or universal form is pretty silly (not normal terminology).
