If Charles has saved $196 total with $42 from the first week and two

equal amounts "w" per week over the following two weeks then the

equation is:

 

2w + 42 = 196     Answer A

 

solving this out... subtract 42 from both sides

 

2w = 154            Answer E

 

divide both sides by 2

 

w = 77               Answer B
