Determine the area under the given curve

The equation is 1/(x⁸). The limits are x=1 and x=2. I put this into my graphing calculator and it gave me an answer of 0.142 but the answer is not right apparently. Please help!

You don't need a calculator to do this problem.  

 

Just rewrite 1/(x⁸) as x^-8 and find the definite integral from 1 to 2 (remember that the area under the curve of a positive function is equal to the definite integral).  

 

By the way, 0.142 is the correct approximation of the integral to 3 decimal places but you are probably looking for the exact answer as a fraction.
