You don't need a calculator to do this problem.
Just rewrite 1/(x8) as x-8 and find the definite integral from 1 to 2 (remember that the area under the curve of a positive function is equal to the definite integral).
By the way, 0.142 is the correct approximation of the integral to 3 decimal places but you are probably looking for the exact answer as a fraction.
