(2 3/5)N = 15 3/5               convert both to improper fractions
(13/5)N = 78/5                   divide both sides by 13/5
N = (78/5) ÷ (13/5)            change division to multiplication by inverse
N = (78/5) · (5/13)              reduce
N = 78/13                           reduce
N = 6

In converting a mixed number ( whole number and a fraction)
to an improper fraction (fraction with numerator larger than denominator)
 
The process is as follows:
 
A C/B =  [(B*A)+C]/B
 
In other words... multiply the denominator by the whole number,
add the numerator to that product... place the sum over the
original denominator.
 
Example:  5 2/9 = [9(5)+2]/9 = (45+2)/9 = 47/9
