By definition, a right triangle has one 90 degree angle and the pythagorean formula applies: a2 + b2 = c2. That means that the square root of the sum of squares of the 2 shorter sides equals the longer side (hypoteneuse). So try plugging the numbers from each of the groups above into the pythagorean equation:
A. (0.52 + 0.42).5 = 0.64, which is not equal to 0.8 so A. is not the answer
B. (0.32 + 0.42).5 = 0.5, so B is the answer. Also, a common type of right triangle is a 3, 4, 5 triangle which this one is (0.3, 0.4, 0.5).
C. (0.32 + 0.52).5 = 0.58 which is not equal to 0.6 so C. is not the answer
D. (0.32 + 0.62).5 = 0.67 which is not equal to 0.7 so D. is not the answer
