If a = x3, then x6 = (x3)= a2, and x5 = (x3)5/3 = a5/3.

So, the equation becomes a2 + a5/3 + a + 5 = 0

23/2is 2x2x2/2x2 or 8/4

The obvious answer is 2

The mechanic of this is 2x2x2/2x2, you cross out the 2x2 top and bottom you have only 2/1 left which is 2.

Power of a number can be seen as how many times the number "repeats" itself.

(xn)m = xnm, not xn+m.  So, if a = x3, then x6 = (x3)2 = a2, not a3
