Hi Noah, the perimeter of a picture frame is given by: P = 2L + 2W. We know the value for P, 60 inches. We know the value for W, 6 inches. Substitute and solve.
60 = 2L + 2 * 6
60 = 2L + 12
Subtract 12 from both sides:
48 = 2L
Divide both sides by 2:
L = 24
The picture frame is 24 inches long by 6 inches high.
