The formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangle is P=2L+2W

P = 2L + 2W          subtract 2W from both sides
P - 2W = 2L           divide both sides by 2
(P - 2W) / 2 = L

Equation can be read by people from left to right and from right to left. Computers are not that smart. Enter:
